Our last meeting was held on March 10th. We practiced out skit for the Crossover meeting and we made leather "wolf" coin purses. Our next den meeting will be held on April 14th. We will continue working on electives and doing other fun projects. |

Hello everyone,
I made a mistake. I scheduled a den meeting on the same night as parent/teacher conferences ...and my conferences are set up for 7:00 and 7:15. Fortunately, the library had Thursday the 30th available! So change you calendars. Our meeting will be on the 30th and not the 23rd. I hope this doesn't inconvenience anyone.
Please work with your son on Achievements 3 and 8. Part of Achievement 3 is to keep a health habit chart for two weeks. If you start tomorrow, it will be exactly two weeks on our next meeting night. We will discuss these and work on a similar elective at the meeting.
I have also set up meetings for December and January: December 2nd - Fadrow A - 6:30 January 13th - Fadrow B - 6:30 January 20th - Fadrow A - 6:30
Have a good two weeks and we will see you at the Pack meeting on the 28th. Don't forget that this pack meeting is Family Fun Night, so bring the entire family!
Yours in Scouting,
Beth

Sorry for the late notice, I need the boys to bring a hammer and a needle nose pliers with them to the meeting tomorrow night. We will be making bird houses. The needle nose pliers is for you to hold the nail while they pound....it will save your thumb from being crushed!! Could you also bring $5.00 to cover the cost of the birdhouse kit. Thank you. We should have a fun meeting and I look forward to seeing everyone.

Hi parents and scouts! Hope everyone had a good summer and has had a great start to school. It's time to start up with scouting again!! We have our first pack meeting on Tuesday Sept. 23rd from 7:00 to 8:30. It will be held at the school. Cub Master Kling should have a schedule of all the other pack meetings to distribute at the meeting. I will be the Popcorn Kernel this year, again, and will be giving out the details about the popcorn sale.
I have set up the first few meetings of the year for the new wolf cubs and they are as follows:
- Thursday Sept. 25th - Library Fadrow A - 6:30 to 7:30
- Thursday Oct. 2nd - Library Fadrow A - 6:30 to 7:30
- Thursday Oct. 23rd - Library Fadrow A - 6:30 to 7:30
- Tuesday Nov. 4th - Library Fadrow A - 6:30 to 7:30
- Tuesday Nov. 11th - Library Fadrow A - 6:30 to 7:30
I hope to plan on having one meeting in December, two in January, two in February, one in March, one in April, one in May, and one final meeting in June. The library will only allow scheduling meetings three months in advance. I will keep everyone posted with the new meeting dates.
Please be sure to purchase the Wolf book and take a moment to look through it. The first few pages of the book explain about scouting and may answer a few questions that you still may have. We will be doing some of the required work at our meetings and some of it will be assigned for you to do at home with your son. I will let you know about a week prior to our meetings what your "assignments" are.
The first requirement the boys must complete is the Bobcat Trail Please complete the eight requirements with your son prior to our first meeting. In my book (which is two years old already) the Bobcat Trail is pages 16 through 35. We will be discussing these and practicing them at our first meeting. We will also be completing Achievement 1 at the meeting (hopefully).
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via phone, email or in person. If you or your son know of anyone interested in scouts, please have them attend the meeting on Sept. 18th at the school. It is the meeting for the signing up of new scouts. ONLY THOSE NEW TO SCOUTING MUST ATTEND.
I look forward to seeing everyone again and know we will have a great year!!
Yours in Scouting, Beth Castleman |
