Hello Speed Racers!,

     Our big pinewood derby race is this Friday, January 29th in the Country Dale Multi-purpose room.  Attached is the (unfinished) newsletter.  Please try to arrive promptly at 6:30pm for the check-in process.  We will begin racing as soon as possible after all cars are successfully checked in.  There will be a second--but unofficial--scale set up and available for last minute tinkering (please remember to bring any tools, graphite, super glue, weights, etc., that you might need).  Once your car is checked in, you will no longer be allowed to touch the car unless asked to do so by the judges (to fix a loose part, e.g.)
     We will be awarding patches to all scouts who successfully enter a car.  Further, for the Scout Race, we will have trophies for first through sixth place (based on best times for an all Pack race).  And, a special mystery trophy will also be awarded! (Perhaps by Racer X himself??) The announcement for the details of that award will be made after the first heat.  (The mystery trophy will be presented instead of the "Fan Favorite" award).  For the Family Member Race, one trophy will be awarded to the winner.  Patches will also be available.  Please remember to write the name of your scout/family member on the bottom of the car (you can use a piece of masking tape, if desired).  A number for the car will be assigned on race day (if your scout put on his own number, that's OK.  We'll be able to tell the difference).
     During the race, please see our Committee Chair, Crystal Ring for re-chartering for the 2010-2011 Cub Scout season.  Tigers are already paid up.  Webelos IIs are optional, but recommended, if going on to Boy Scouts. The magazine, Boys' Life, is also optional, but recommended. You can use popcorn money to pay for these fees.  Finally, a pit crew will have snack items available for purchase!

Welcome Scouts!

A new year is almost here and many great things are expected.

Starting things off is a new look to the web site along with some features that we hope to take advantage of. Shortly, the calendar of events will be filled up with pack and den meeting dates, events, and a bunch or other items. With a bit of help, this site should better than ever. Speaking of help, since we have no official photographer, if anyone took pictures from last year, please send them in so that they can get posted. Lastly, they is now an email address for the pack. It is Pack507CubScouts@gmail.com. Send photos, comments and suggestions for the site there.
